Vanessa Lachey is an American actress who is born to her parents, Helen Ramos Bercero and Vincent Charles Minnillo. She has a mixed ethnicity since her father is half Italian, a quarter Russian-Jewish, and a quarter Irish.
Similarly, her mother is a Filipina.
She is a beauty pageant titleholder, fashion model, and television host who was named Miss Teen USA in 1998.
Lachey worked as a journalist for Entertainment Tonight in New York and presented Total Request Live on MTV. She appeared in two network comedies and hosted many competitive and reality series in the 2010s and 2020s.
Lachey also played the protagonist in the CBS spinoff NCIS: Hawaii, which aired in September 2021.
Lachey began her hosting career on MTV’s The Morning After (2003) and Total Request Live (2003-2007). Then in 2005, she became a New York City Correspondent for Entertainment Tonight.
She also hosted the Miss Teen USA and Miss Universe beauty pageants in 2004 and 2007, respectively.
Flirt! Cosmetics, her beauty collection, debuted in August 2007 at Kohl’s department stores. Minnillo was ranked #15 in Maxim magazine’s annual Hot 100 edition in May 2006.
She has been on the covers of several publications, including Maxim, Vegas, Shape, Parents, People, and Lucky.
Minnillo was a finalist in E !’s for a replacement for Brooke Burke as host of Wild On!. She also presented True Beauty, an ABC television series that began on January 5, 2009.
She had minor appearances in a number of television programs early in her career, including That’s Life, City Girls, 30 Rock, The Bold and the Beautiful, Psych, Hawaii Five-O, and Maybe It’s Me.
She co-starred with Matt Lanter, Kim Kardashian, and Carmen Electra in the spoof film Disaster Movie (2008).
Minnillo also competed against her husband in the 25th season of Dancing with the Stars. Lachey published her first book, Life from Scratch: Family Traditions That Begin with You in 2021.
She discussed in the book how not having a relationship with her mother influenced her attitude toward some things. And how she had to utilize her own creativity to construct festivities and milestone markers that would become yearly family rituals.
